what a fab post, I do wish I could knit well, what a great idea to use the pattern for cross stich. You do have some beautiful book with wonderful illustations I love the phrase, snatches up an armful of children.

I didn't know Ameliaranne, so happy to learn about these stories. Lovely (and funny) illustrations!

Little contemplations

  • A flower cannot blossom without sunshine nor a garden without love.
  • Angels speak to out hearts when we are asleep.
  • The kiss of the sun for pardon,
The song of the birds for mirth,
One is nearer God's heart in a garden,
    Than anywhere else on earth.
  • Small skill is gained by those who cling to ease. The hardy sailor hails from stormy seas
  • If you want the best seat in the house move the cat
  • There are perhaps no days in our childhood we live so fully as those we spend with a favourite book.
