Dear Eli,

What a delightful post! You knit beautifully! I am enjoying your lovely blog so much! It is full of inspiration and lovely photos! I would love to visit your beautiful country!!!! O to be in England!

I was delighted to find your sweet comment and I thank you for visiting my blog. Indeed the Charlotte Mason I was referring to was the educationalist. She is very popular here in the states among homeschoolers, thanks to Karen Andreola's excellent book, A Charlotte Mason Companion. I first read her book when my son was very young and reread it often. We have enjoyed, and still enjoy so much good literature and have a love of learning because of Charlotte's teachings.

How wonderful that she is well respected in your area, lived there and built her house of education. I am delighted to hear her college still trains teachers. I would love to see it when you feature it sometime. Thank you so much for all you shared with me.

I hope you have a lovely weekend.

Dear Eli,

It is me again, popping in to say hello and thank you for your kind comment! I really appreciate your supportive words about homeschooling. I hope you will see more of it in your beautiful country.

I look forward to seeing the photos of Ambleside. You are so sweet to take some! I do hope Charlotte's lovely paintings were preserved.

Enjoy your day!
Blessings,
Paula

what an enchanting post, I have been to fairy land and back again, the fairies that live at the bottom of our garden amonst the flowers, pots and vegetables would delight in a knitted home like you have done. Ohh to be a knitter I really must try much harder with my needles.

I think I wanted to live in one of those fairy toadstool houses as a child, sometimes I think I still do.

Little contemplations

  • A flower cannot blossom without sunshine nor a garden without love.
  • Angels speak to out hearts when we are asleep.
  • The kiss of the sun for pardon,
The song of the birds for mirth,
One is nearer God's heart in a garden,
    Than anywhere else on earth.
  • Small skill is gained by those who cling to ease. The hardy sailor hails from stormy seas
  • If you want the best seat in the house move the cat
  • There are perhaps no days in our childhood we live so fully as those we spend with a favourite book.
