On my desk this Wednesday I have an enormous heap of children's mini books. Why? Because I'm looking for an example of a certain something which I could knit as a little motif/picture to add to the growing collection of knitted pics already on my blog. My daughter was sure I would find what I was looking for amongst the pages of the mini books she had as a child. So far the collection looks promising so I remain hopeful.
"Look in the Winkie books" she said. " You should find what you are looking for there".
My yarn and needles are ready and waiting.
So many mini books. Did I really buy my daughter that many? I haven't seen them for years but they all bring back happy memories of bedtime story reading. Will I find what I'm looking for? Look again on Friday and you will find out.
Great fun! 'On my desk Wednesday' has a number of 'players' worldwide and is posted every week. All that is required is a shot of your desk and a bit of chat about the kinds of things you are currently working on. Click here for more details and a list of the other players.
If I had that many books to go through they would still be on my desk next Wednesday! What a wonderful way to seek inspiration.

Dear Eli.. a visit to your post is always such a visual treat and a very nostalgic one for me.
A lot of these mini books are treasured memories of my own childhood books.. my all time favourite being Ant and Bee.. one of my first books. Pookie is another.. and Nicholas Thomas and the Pixie series of books.. Toby Twirl.. oh the list goes on! Thank you for bringing these back to life for me.
