I feel quite guilty about knitting when the sun is shining and the garden beckons but last week I picked up my needles and, inspired by the little bunnies hopping around our plot, I produced Rowena Rabbit who has become my trusted sewing and knitting companion. You'll find a pattern for her in my Etsy shop.
After a night of rain the sun has popped his head out once again today and the garden is ablaze with the colour of our rhododendrons and azaleas. They thrive in our damp climate and grow like weeds.
The overnight rain sadly knocked off a number of blooms so I've gathered a few to show you. The combination of colours is wonderful.
This piece of gift wrap has similar vibrant shades....yummy!
The weather this weekend is not looking good so, inspired by the colours in the garden, I've selected some vibrant yarns and will have a good excuse to excercise my needles.
Indoors or out......... have a good weekend
I love Rowena! I hope those pins aren't hurting her too much.I like the way she's holding the scissors under her arm. Lucky you to have those beautiful flowers in your garden.Enjoy the weeekend whatever you get up to.

I love the colours in this post. After receiving your patterns, I am working on Jack and Jill. They are so easy and cute, I foresee a multitude taking shape in no time. Hope you have no objections to me selling them in my Oxfam shop, naming you as designer, of course.

Dear Eli,
Oh, how precious is Rowena! I can see how she is making herself quite useful for you; just as nicely as one of my chatelaines!
The colors are so vibrant and gay (are we allowed to use that word still?); a veritable feast for the eyes.
Love and happy knitting,
Marqueta

Dear Eli,
You do inspire me to be a better knitter! I would so love to knit like you. Rowena Rabbit is so sweet! The weather here is cloudy and I think I might exercise my needles also!
Blessings,

What absolutely lovely colours! I have to admit to being the sort that happily sits outside to knit and crochet when the weather permits... And speaking of which, just wanted to show you this http://oran.typepad.com/my_weblog/2010/05/bank-holiday-f1-and-crochet.html. She finally got made and immediately given away, but I loved her to bits for the short time she was with me! O. xxx

I love Rowena, she is adorable, you are so clever with your knitting. :)
Which Miss Read book are you currently reading? I am onto Over The Gate. I am really enjoying re-reading all of her wonderful books, my favourite series is the Fairacre ones, love them. :) xxx

Rowena Rabbit is lovely and so is the plate of flowers, such beautiful colours. No knitting for me for a while unfortunately, I've just broken my wrist:(

Oh Eli, her little red cape and thimble basket are ever so sweet. Rowena Rabbit looks to be the most delightful companion to share a sewing adventure with! It seems you are reading the Miss Read series...my mom recently discovered these stories, read everyone she could get her hands on, and passed them on to me. I've only just nipped the surface but love them already. Even crouchy Mrs. Pringle has found a spot in my heart. Our weekend weather looks to be about the same as yours...a good chance to snuggle in for some reading! I'll be thinking of you and your dancing needles...Enjoy!
Fondly,
natalie jo
